Star Trek's Anime Stars Struggling a Fantastic Fight!

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the voice actor of Goku (voiced by William Devane) and Vegeta (voiced by Anthony Francisco) shows his favorite Star Wars characters aren't Luke and Leia but instead his favorite Star Trek characters. This includes Captain Kirk (James Frain), Spock (Philip Seymour Hoffman) and Bones (Harry Dean Stanton). It is thus not just Star Wars fans who can relate to the statement of Devane and Francisco: it's everybody who loves Star Trek.

The same holds for the voice actor of Yoda (Peter Sellers): it isn't his Star Wars personalities, but rather Japanese gods such as the Greek god of the sky, Uranus and Thor, both of whom struggle side-by-side at the Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. It would be tricky to imagine a Star Trek actor such as Anton Yelchin, who portrays the Klingon warrior Worf, would like to portray such a character from an animated movie such as Star Trek: The Next Generation. The same goes for his choice of a Star Trek character such as Worf: the actor should have been affected by seeing how such characters struggle side-by-side in the film Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan.

Indeed, it is nearly sure that Vin Diesel would never have become the popular action star he is now if not for Star Trek's Enterprise crew. His enthusiasm for the franchise is clear to all, from the way he wears his own signature uniform to the way he behaves in the front of the camera.

Obviously, the popularity of Star Wars isn't to be underestimated, and it's a fair bet that any celebrity in Hollywood would love to have had roles in the movies or the television set of Star Wars. It cosmic stars isn't only the fans who would find it easy to relate to such performers, however. In fact, they'd likely find it even more difficult to look at a Star Trek movie and not feel a deep sense of nostalgia. The movies of Star Trek are nearly universal classics: they've been viewed and observed by countless numbers of those who have come to admire the courage and the humanity of the characters.

Really, as we see the characters of Star Trek go about fighting their battles, we're forced to question our own preconceived ideas of what it means to be human, and the way we react to the battle between good and evil. We're made to consider life itself and how it functions in a universe filled with the wonders of science fiction.

Indeed, in regards to an actor whose voice we find reassuring, there is no one greater than Vin Diesel to help us find comfort in his voice. He brings out a voice that says the things we want to convey and tells us a story we want to hear without coming across as preachy or cheesy.
